Due to Covid-19 pandemic, those students seeking admission in class XI in Haryana have been allowed to send their necessary documents to the principal concerned through WhatsApp for admission in government schools while fees is not required to be paid.

Education Minister Kanwar Pal on Sunday said that the State Government has taken an important decision in the interest of the students who have passed class X from Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani. Those who want to enroll in class XI in the Government schools can send their class X result and necessary documents to the principal of the concerned school through WhatsApp to get admission in class XI. The students are not required to submit their fee, he said.

Kanwar Pal said that by adhering to the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Health, the State Government has taken this initiative so as to maintain social distancing.

The students will get admission to class XI while staying at their homes, he added. Last week, the Board of School Education, Haryana had announced the result of class X, in which the pass percentage of regular students stood at 64.59 percent as against 57.39 percent in the year 2019.

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, science examination of X class was not conducted, while the exam of four subjects was conducted. Out of four subjects, the result was adding Science marks based on the average of the three subjects in which the student had secured maximum marks.

Meanwhile, the Minister urged the teachers to stay in touch with their class students. Besides imparting education, they should strengthen the psychological need of the students as well and conduct student counseling if needed, he said.
