Following the spike in Covid-19 cases in Nabarangpur district, the district administration on Sunday declared a complete shutdown in Chandahandi block for five days from April 19 to 23.Besides, the administration sealed two main roads connecting to a district in nieghbouring Chhattisgarh.
However, there are over 50 routes connecting neighbouring district, which is a major cause of concern for district officials. The Chandahandi block, locals have social contacts with villagers of neighbouring district and frequent movement takes place to Chandahandi. In view of it, traders in Chamakhandi block downed shutters of their shops demanding that authorities order shutdown to prevent virus spread in area.
