Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate 100 new and equipped kitchen centers in the second phase of Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana at Minto Hall on February 26 at 3 pm.
Chouhan will also interact with the beneficiaries present at the kitchen centers of Indore, Ujjain, Morena, Dhar and Chhatarpur districts. The kitchen centers will be operated in 52 district headquarters and 6 religious cities Maihar, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Amarkantak, Orchha and Chitrakoot.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh and Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing OPS Bhadoria will also address the programme. The programme will be broadcast live on regional TV news channels and various social media platforms.
The Chief Minister will also dedicate the portal made for continuous monitoring of the scheme. The portal has details of the number of beneficiaries being benefitted daily, details of kitchen centers, online kitchen centers and facilities for donations to urban bodies made available to the public.
The portal also has a dashboard, which will enable better review of the implementation of the scheme in various centers along with transparency in the implementation of the plan. All kitchen centers of the scheme are also tagged on google map. With this, common citizens will be able to find kitchen centers easily.
Zaroorat ki thali-Nahi rahegi khaliUrban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has said that the main objective of the scheme is ‘Zaroorat ki thali-Nahi rahegi khali’. Rs 10 per plate meal will be provided in the kitchen center from Monday to Saturday. Food distribution timing will be from 10 am to 3 pm.
The kitchen center has been established near the bus stand, railway station, district hospital. The scheme will also benefit the poor people of the city as well as people coming to the city for work from villages.
The Deendayal Rasoi Thali will comprise roti, seasonal vegetable, dal and chawal.
One-time assistance of Rs 13.36 crore and recurring expenditure of Rs 15.84 crore has been approved for the establishment of kitchen centers under the new scheme. For the first time, the state government has approved the grant at the rate of Rs 5 per person.
Due to the availability of institutional arrangement in the form of Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana, food has been made available to poor urban citizens, migrant labourers and the needy during the Covid period.
These kitchen centers proved to be extremely supportive during the pandemic. From the beginning of the first phase till now, 1.42 one crore thalis have been served with food.
