The State unit of Samajwadi Party on Wednesday requested RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das to introduce a commemorative coin to mark the centenary of arrival of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in Odisha, which comes up on March 23, 2021.
The Mahatma had visited the State for the first time on March 23 in the year 1921. This is going to be centenary year of his arrival in Odisha.The State Government is planning mega programmes in memory of Gandhi’s historic arrival throughout year starting from March 23, 2021.
