A derogatory comment made by one of the state spokespersons of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is trying to make its presence felt in the political landscape of Uttarakhand has given an opportunity to both BJP and Congress to attack the party. Launching an attack on the AAP, the media in charge of BJP, Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the AAP spokesperson has compared the people of Uttarakhand with hungry dogs which underlines the attitude of AAP. He said that AAP which changes its colour like a chameleon does not understand people of Uttarakhand and the state. Chauhan said that the brave people of Uttarakhand have participated in the freedom struggle and given their lives to protect the motherland but have never compromised on their honour and dignity. He said that AAP should submit an immediate and unconditional apology to the people of Uttarakhand for the comment of its spokesperson. The Uttarakhand Congress too has castigated the AAP for what it termed a highly derogatory comment of its spokesperson. In a joint statement the spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress R P Raturi and Pratima Singh said that statement of AAP spokesperson Uma Sisodia is very unfortunate and deplorable. They said that on one hand Arvind Kejriwal is trying to impress the simple and innocent people of Uttarakhand by making false promises and on the other hand the spokesperson of his party is making such a derogatory remark about the people of the state. Raturi said that Sisodia has no knowledge about the people of the state as one would not find even a single person in the country who is a native of Uttarakhand and is engaged in begging. The Congress also demanded that the AAP should submit an immediate apology to the people of the state for the unfortunate remark of its spokesperson.
