n The process of internal assessment for preparation of Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), matriculation and intermediate results will begin next week. The schools have been asked to complete the process of internal assessment by June 30. The JAC in this connection is also preparing a portal in which schools have to upload the marks of students secured in internal assessment and practical tests. The JAC will issue a guideline in this connection by next week.
JAC chairman Arvind Singh said, “The JAC is working on various systems under which students will be promoted from class X to XII, however, the final decision will be taken by the state government.†JAC chairman further said, “The results of Class IX and XI board examinations will also be considered while preparing the results of students.â€
On Saturday, JAC senior officials informed Regional Deputy Directors Education and District Education Officers to prepare a panel of teachers in all high schools and +2 schools. The panel will consist of two teachers from respective schools and one teacher from other schools. JAC will send internal assessment criteria to schools, based on which internal assessment of matriculation and intermediate students will be done. The internal assessment consists of marks secured by students in class IX and XI board examination, marks in class tests, students’ performance in quiz and other competitions along with students’ attendance. Students who have not appeared in practical examinations, the school examination board will also conduct separate practical examinations for such students keeping all Covid 19 protocols.
The assessment and practical numbers will be given in the portal to be released by JAC. All RDDEs and DEOs have been asked to discuss these matters with teachers in the next one or two days and provide their views to JAC.
Sources said that the marks of the theory paper for matriculation and intermediate will be decided by the JAC committee. This determination will be based on the examination conducted on the OMR sheet of 9th and 11th of the previous year. The committee will be decided in the next two-three days.
In class IX and XI, objective type questions were asked from five subjects carrying 40 marks each. 10 marks each of the five subjects were to be given in the internal assessment. Now the result of matriculation and intermediate will be decided on the basis of answering objective questions of 40-40 marks of IX-11th. The percentage of marks obtained in answering the questions, the same number of marks will be given in theory. If a student got 25 marks in answer to a question of 40 marks in Hindi, then in Matric-Inter he would get 50 marks out of 80. At the same time, if we got 20 marks out of 40 in science, then now we will get 35 marks out of 70.
