Manisha bags silver in World Cup shooting championship

The  daughters of Madhya Pradesh are showing their talent at the international level and are bringing laurels to the country by performing brilliantly.

Manisha Keer, a talented player of Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, showcased such brilliant talent in the World Cup and won the silver medal in the team Women's Event. Manisha Keer, representing the Indian team, scored the highest 158 points in the World Women's Event in the World Cup, organized by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) from 22 February to 5 March 2021 in Cairo, Egypt. While Rajeshwari Kumari and Kirti Gupta, who were in the team, scored 143-143 and gave the country a silver medal with a total of 444 points. The Russian Federation finished first with 463 points and the host country Egypt with 405 points.

Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia praised Manisha Keer for her brilliant performance in the World Cup and congratulated Manisha Keer and said that we are proud of our  daughter. The Sports Minister said that this achievement of Manisha Keer has proved that even after the Corona period, our players are freshly elevated. Daughters of Madhya Pradesh are doing excellent at international level and winning medals and hoisting the country and state.

She also congratulated Manasher Singh, Chief Instructor of Shooting Academy, on this achievement achieved by Manisha Keer in the World Cup.

Manisha Keer took admission in Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in the year 2013 and started training in the shotgun game under the guidance of Manasher Singh, Chief Instructor of Shooting Academy.

Manisha, who made a career in shooting, is a talented player at the trap event. She has equaled the world record by scoring 115 out of 125 in the Trap event at the World Junior Shooting Championship in Korea. In the first Asian Online Shooting (Shotgun) Championship held in Kuwait from 28 to 30 January 2021, Manisha won the country a bronze medal. Manisha Keer has won 12 medals including 2 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze in international competitions so far. He has made the state proud by earning a total of 33 medals in national shooting competitions, thus winning 21 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Jain said that Sports and Youth Welfare Department is providing international level sports facilities and training to sportspersons in Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in Bishankhedi near the capital Bhopal. He said that with the initiative and efforts of Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the players of the State are getting the opportunity to showcase talent at national and international level through the World Class Shooting Academy.
