Jharkhand will continue to witness cold weather conditions towards the end of January and in the first week of February as the minimum temperature is expected to drop by a few degrees in the coming days.
As per the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi from January 30 onwards clear weather conditions will prevail across the State will be clear. There will also be a drop in the minimum temperature levels by two to four degree Celsius in the northern and central parts of Jharkhand from January 30 onwards.
In the next few days, the southern parts of the State will also witness a two-to-four-degree Celsius drop in the minimum temperature levels
“From January 30, for the next three to four days the weather across Jharkhand will be dry and no rainfall in being predicted. There will a drop in the minimum temperature levels across the State. This will be because the north westerly wind pattern will again be active towards the end of January across the State which will cause an increase in the chill factor,†said Deputy Director, MET Centre, Ranchi Abhishek Anand.
As per the weathermen parts of northern and central Jharkhand will have shallow to moderate fog on Sunday while from January 31 onwards the entire State will witness fog in the early morning hours.
According to the bulletin released by the MET Centre, Ranchi on January 29, the lowest temperature across the State was recorded in Giridih with the local IMD Observatory recording it at 7.7 degree Celsius. Bokaro was recorded at 9.1 degree Celsius which is 3.8 degrees below normal while Chiabasa was at 10.8 degree Celsius which is 1.6 notches below normal. The State capital was observed at 12.5 degree Celsius which is 2.2 degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature in Daltonganj was recorded at 18 degree Celsius which is 8.7 degrees below normal while the minimum temperature was 0.6 degrees above normal at 10.5 degree Celsius.
The bulletin further stated that some parts of Jharkhand also witnessed light showers on January 28 with the maximum rainfall being recorded in Lohardaga at 8 mm.
As per the communique shared by the Department, from January 30 to February 2, the minimum temperature in the State capital and its surrounding areas will be around 7- 8 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature will be at 24 degree Celsius.
