Delhi Police has arrested two more men for allegedly opening multiple rounds of fire at two brothers in west Delhi's Subhash Nagar area.
The accused have been identified as Adnan Tyagi (18) and Faizal (25), a resident of Tihar Village.
On Saturday, three assailants fired indiscriminately at an Innova car and grievously injured two brothers Ajay Chaudhary and Yashpal Chaudhary, when they were coming after meeting their relatives at Kalra Hospital, Kirti Nagar. They both received critical gunshot injuries.
During investigation, the accused were identified as Paras (gang member of Salman Tyagi), Salman’s brother Adnan Tyagi and Salman’s relative Faizal.
Further investigation revealed that they were followed the directions of Salman, who is in jail in MCOCA case. Salman has old enmity with Ajay and they planned to eliminate him, police said.
Police found that the one Raju provided the scooty used in crime to the accused persons. He was arrested on Sunday. Paras was arrested on Monday by the Special Cell of Delhi Police, they said, adding that gang leader Salman was also arrested on Sunday from Tihar Jail.
According to Ghanshyam Bansal, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West district, on Tuesday, information was received that Adnan and Faizal would be at Khurja in UP. Later, a raid was conducted at Jahangirpur, Khurja and Adnan and Faizal were arrested.
The investigation revealed that Salman was extorting money in 2016 and there was some tussle between him and Baniya, cousin of Ajay, said the DCP.
After that Salman was arrested under NDPS Act and subsequently a MCOCA was invoked on him and his gang. He suspected that Ajay was confining him in jail, the DCP said.
He wanted to take revenge from Ajay and discussed it with his brother Adnan and cousin Faizal.
They conspired to kill Ajay. Adnan and Faizal watched the activities of Ajay and came to know that he and his brother frequently visit Kalra Hospital to see their relative, police said.
They roped in old associate of Salman called Paras. They also roped in Raju. The weapons for the offence were arranged by Salman, police said.
