The foundation stone for the 108 feet tall statue of God Hanuman in the Hanumanji Char Dham Project was laid in Rameswaram on Wednesday.
The statue, 3rd in the series after Jakhoo Hill in Shimla in 2010 and second one in Morbi Gujarat will be constructed by Harish Chander Nanda Education and Charitable Trust.
The foundation ceremony was presided over by Nikhil Nanda of the Harish Chander Nanda Trust in the presence of RSS all India general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and RN Choubey, former UPSC Secretary.
The project was started in 2008 by industrialist Nikhil Nanda. The first statue in the series was completed in 2010 at Jakhu Mandir (Shimla) and was inaugurated by then CM of Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal.
