22 Pulse mills to be setup in Palamu Division: Badal

In a review meeting held on Friday, Agriculture Minister Badal said that the 22 Pulse Milla will be established in Palamu Division, out of which seven will be set up in Latehar, eight in Palamu and seven in Garhwa. He also assured that the State Government will provide its full support to export the Pulses produced in the district because of its popularity.  

The welfare schemes being run by the Central and State Governments for the farmers should be completed in time so that the farmers can get the benefits of those schemes. To bring these plans on the ground, to ensure completion under stipulated time the Agriculture Minister instructed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Palamu, Latehar and Garhwa.

Badal was reviewing the work being done by the Agriculture Department in Palamu Division in the divisional level review meeting held through video conferencing at the State Secretariat. The Department’s Secretary, Abu Baqr Siddiqui, Director, Nesha Oraon, Animal Husbandry Director, Shashi Prakash Jha and Fishery Department Director, HN Diwedi were present on the occasion.

The Minister directed the officers to expedite the selection of beneficiaries in the agriculture loan waiver scheme so that loans of maximum farmers could get the benefit and this work should be completed by running a campaign. He said the officials should make the effort that the information about the schemes being run by the Government should reach the farmers and with this kind of publicity, more and more farmers will be able to take advantage of those schemes by becoming aware of the schemes.  

Badal also said that all the farmers of the State have to make KCC cards. He directed all the DC of Palamu Division to ensure that all farmers should get the cards. He told the officials to talk with the bank for this work and instructed them to expedite this work as soon as possible.

The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana and Feed Based Fisheries Scheme were also discussed in detail in which promotion of cage culture was considered. In this discussion, the Minister directed that the Fisheries Cooperation Committee should be formed at every Panchayat. Decision was taken to form cooperative society and district level cooperative society under the chairmanship of DCs at district level. All the DCs were instructed to take necessary action without delay for the selection and election of the members of the district level cooperative society.

In reviewing the Chief Minister's Livestock Scheme, the Agriculture Minister directed the District Animal Husbandry Officers of all the three districts of Palamu division to complete the scheme by selecting 100 per cent beneficiaries in goat rearing, broiler-poultry rearing and duck rearing.
