9 killed in separate road mishaps

Nine people were killed while several others were injured in separate road mishaps since Monday night.
In the first accident in Saharanpur, four people died while 18 others were injured after a speeding car hit a tractor-trolley in Deoband area late Monday night.
According to police, the accident occurred on Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur highway near Rohana toll plaza under Deoband police station area. DSP Ramkaran said the police launched a rescue operation under SDM Deepak Kumar. Those injured were rushed to a hospital where the condition of 13 was said to be critical.
Saharanpur DM Akhilesh Singh said car occupants Shivani (18) and driver Sarthak Bharadwaj (25) died on the spot while tractor-trolley occupants Savitri Devi (50) and Gyanvati (47) succumbed to injuries at a primary health centre.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the loss of lives and asked the officials concerned to ensure proper treatment to the injured.
Elsewhere in Dataganj police station area of Badaun, a car rammed into a tree, due to which three of the same family, including a mother-son duo, died while two others were injured. They were returning from Khatu Shyam Baba temple late Monday night.
Jyoti alias Ruchi (28), her son Shashank (8) and brother-in-law Priyank (24) died on the spot while Sakshi and Prashant were injured. The police sent the bodies for autopsy and admitted the injured to the district hospital from where they were referred to Bareilly hospital.
Meanwhile, two people were killed when a van collided with a bike near Mamna village in Mahoba district.
According to the information, Kailash (55) of Badua village of Lalauli police station in Fatehpur, along with his wife Asha (50), son Pankaj (26) and driver, was going to Bageshwar Dham of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh in the van on Tuesday.
On the way, the van collided with a bike near Singh Baba place in Mamna village, killing van occupant Pankaj and the bike rider. The van driver fled the scene. The deceased bike rider was identified as Mahinder Ahirwar of Saguniya Kulpahad.
