Amity Scientist, Dr. Nikhlesh Pathik, Associate Professor, CSC, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, has developed a highly innovative Fully Automatic Washing Machine, which was displayed at the India International Science Festival-2022, held at MANIT Bhopal, from 21st-24th Jan 2023.

The compact, fully-automated washing machine, automatically sucks the liquid soap as per the load taken and uses only a single motor to perform both washing and drying laundry tasks. The machine also comprises a single barrel, a soap suction module, and a water level sensor, including solenoid valves for water inflow and outflow control.

Speaking about the novel features of the Innovation, Dr. Nikhlesh Pathik, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, averred, “The first significant feature of this washing machine is that it uses a single motor for washing and dryers, which makes it cost effective and power efficient. With its soap auto-suction modules, the washing machine is very convenient to use. In addition, its compact size consumes less water in case of a small number of clothes and it consumes less power due to its low power rating components. The cost is less than other available machines, making it useful for a small family. It is also wi-fi enabled and has other additional features as well.”

Amity showcased its path-breaking Innovations, during the India International Festival-2022, through Amity’s stall which witnessed a footfall of more than 100,000 students, during the four-day India International Science Festival-2022. The technologies showcased by Amity at the India International Science Festival-2022 included Chromium Detection Sensor, Vegetarian Hard Capsule, Dhan Rakshak - Biopesticide for combating Rice Blast Disease,    Photocatalytic Waste-Water Treatment System, Novel Protease Enzyme with high activity, N-doped Carbon Nanosheet-based Hydrogel Composite for wound healing and Protein Hydrolysate and Gelatine by Fish Waste, amongst others.

Amity University has been credited with filing more than 1835 patents in the areas of Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Biosensors, Herbal, Software, IT, Photovoltaic, Electronics, Microbiology etc.

Over 30,000 research publications such as research papers, articles, books/ chapters in journals such as The Lancet, Cell, ACS, Oxford Journals, Nature Publishing group, RSC Advances, Taylor & Francis, have been published by the researchers and scientists of Amity.
