It is noteworthy that Chas is a Municipal Corporation in Chas subdivision of the Bokaro district of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is often referred to as a suburb of Bokaro Steel City, though it predates the steel plant. As Chas is surrounded by major industrial hubs hence Public Transport Ridership is critical consequently to ensure smooth traffic through public bus transport in cities with population (5 – 40 Lakhs) recently under the consent of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoUHA), Government of India and leadership of AMC Anil Kumar presentation programme of Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the consultant for Chas Bokaro City Bus Service was organized where consultant informed that Chas Bokaro city bus service will be started under PPP mode with an amount of about 376 crores. In this, 40 per cent amount has to be collected by the Centre, 35 per cent by the state government and 25 per cent by earning revenue on its own. A total of 67 buses will be operated in the first phase. These buses will run on CNG and electric. A total of 67 buses are proposed to be operated and once this City Bus service starts CMC will make significant changes in public transport at economical rates with quality rides.
AMC Anil Kumar while expressing his views towards all round improvements said that his parallel focus and action plan for Restoration of Chas Garga Riverfront beautification activities and rainwater harvesting project along the stretch of the river to save its purity seeking various contaminated discharges from various sources is there. Rainwater harvesting can help in attaining the minimum flow in the river water for scouring the sediments and dilution water availability. AMC Kumar while anticipating exponential reforms in coming days as already things started taking shape at Chas Municipal area appealed all to come reunite together and be a part of all the developments works where we all can flourish together.
