MANIT organising activities for NEP implementation

To celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of promulgation of National Education Policy (NEP) - 2020 and as a precursor to the 2nd Akhil Bhartiya Shikha Samagam that is scheduled to take place on 29th & 30th July in Delhi, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, organized a number of activities in the month of July.Some of these activities were stand-alone activities carried out by MANIT on its own. This included Newspaper Articles / Reports, Video recordings to understand the perceptions, expectations and aspirations of students about NEP-2020, and an Offline Workshop at MANIT on Sunday.

The video recording of MANIT students brought to fore the thoughts of a very important stake holder in the overall scheme of things - the student community. Their thoughts and aspirations were found to be in resonance with the spirit of NEP-2020.

The One Day Offline Workshop at MANIT was organized by NEP - 2020 Implementation Cell, Office of Dean (Academics), MANIT. It was held on Mondayand attended by 37 faculty members of MANIT. The audience comprised Deans, Heads,  Senior Professors and Other Faculty Members of the institute. The event was chaired by Director, MANIT, Prof KK Shukla, and the Chief Guest for the event was P. Narahari, Secretary & Commissioner, Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) & Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of M P.

The program started with a brief introduction of NEP-2020 and information about the objectives of workshop by Dr. Ajay Pandey, Coordinator (NEP Cell). This was then followed by Dean (Academics) Dr. MM Malik's address who elaborated the topic further and threw light on the measures taken by MANIT. Director, MANIT, Prof. K. K. Shukla spoke in detail about various important provisions of NEP-2020, the critical role of educators in the new academic environment and the gap between research and its commercial utilization that needs to be bridged. P Narahari emphasised the need for skill development and employability enhancement.  He also provided valuable information about various M. P. government schemes that aim to promote innovation.
