Palamu dist admn ensures peaceful and harmonious puja

Monday, 23 October 2023 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Palamu is ready and prepared both to ensure peaceful and harmonious Durga Puja said sources.

Not many know there occurred two 'specimens of unease' very recently one at Purabdeeha village under the Chainpur police limits and the other at Gurha village under the Bishrampur police station  limits  where the specimens of unease were handled with confidence and precision by the civil and police administration said one police officer requesting for anonymity.

The unease could have unleashed public unrest or outcry  but it was capped with tact and precision.

Sources said had Panki police station limits not erupted communally on 15th of February this year and Chando village under the Chainpur police station limits  about four years ago, this festival would not have drawn this much of hype this year for security as every Durga Puja in the past, Palamu administration's maintenance of public tranquility remains undisputed. It is again the same minute level preparation said sources.

On Saturday arrived here secretary of state woman and child development Kirpanand Jha and IG police (operations) A V Homkar.

The duo held a long interaction with the DC Shashi Ranjan, SP Reeshma Ramesan and host of police officials, understandably on the issue of the law and order and communal harmony.

Sources said the country wide data on eruption of communal disharmony is related to the procession, its route, places of worship lying in the route, dominance of people of which of the two faith lie across the route, episodes of stoning, arsoning etc.

Here too the Palamu administration has drawn a map of routes for the procession of the immersion of the idols with vital information.

Eruptions occur where with mischief intent and with communal content the prescribed, permitted, licensed route is left and diversion is made to race the procession where lies place of worship of the other faith.

The two tops Jha and Homkar just wanted the Palamu administration to ensure safe passage of the immersion with no diversion or straying or drifting away from the licensed routes.

Sources said the district administration has vowed to ensure passage through only the licensed routes.

There will be 581 immersions in Palamu as there are 581 Puja pandals which means 581 processions but not necessarily at all that 581 routes would be required as there are routes where move more than four dozen processions on the same route but at different timing  nevertheless the worries of the administration will be acute and intense till the last immersion that is of  Puja pandal marked 581.

Ten drones will be pressed in during the Durga Puja here for 66 sensitive Puja pandals here in Palamu. There are 581 Puja pandals in Palamu.

Local divers will be kept standby during the immersion of the idols in the confluence of the two rivers Koyel and Sone in Palamu's Hussainabad sub division. Amanat has agreeable water and here there is not much of the problem.

This correspondent saw a good number of armed cops on bikes on NH 75 in the afternoon of Saturday here. This correspondent heard a passerby saying " "The administration looks very tight this time because of Panki."
