Prohibitory orders imposed in Bhopal in view of counting

Bhopal Collector Ashish Singh has issued orders under Section 144 on Saturday regarding the counting of assembly elections to be held on December 3. In this, keeping of sharp weapons has been banned and aerial firing has been prohibited in any festival or celebration.

There will also be a ban on meetings, protests, demonstrations and rallies. If the order is violated, action will be taken under section 188. Along with this, orders have been issued to keep all the liquor shops in the district closed from tonight till Monday morning.

These orders have been issued to maintain peace during the elections. The concerned SDM, Tehsildar and police officers have been asked to keep an eye on this.

Counting of votes will start from 8 am on Sunday in the strong room built in the old jail.

No more than 5 or more persons will gather at one place at a time without the permission of the competent authority. Will not carry any kind of sharp or other weapon, firearm, hockey stick, rod etc. Nor will they demonstrate. Opening Aerial firing will be prohibited in any kind of festival or celebration.

Without permission, meetings, protests, processions, vehicle rallies etc. will not be organised. Any kind of political activity will be completely banned in government/non-government school grounds, buildings, and government office premises.

DJ or band will not be allowed to play without permission. If allowed, they can be played only in the prescribed decibels. A separate room has been made for media representatives at the counting venue.

Counting of votes will start from 8 am on Sunday in the strong room built in the old jail. Results will start coming out by afternoon. A situation of dispute arises after victory or defeat. Therefore the Collector has issued this order.

Liquor shops will close at 11:30 pm tonight, will open on Monday

All 87 liquor shops in the city will be closed from 11:30 pm on Saturday. These shops will remain closed on December 3 due to the counting of votes for seven assembly seats. Liquor shops will now open from 8 am on December 4. Along with this, all bars will also be closed from 12 midnight. Orders have been issued in this regard.

Earlier, before voting, all the liquor shops and bars in the city remained closed from 6 pm on November 15 till the end of voting on November 17.
