Terrorist with Hazaribag roots nabbed by NIA in Delhi

The NIA has nabbed terrorist Shahnawaj in Delhi, whose roots have been traced back to Hazaribag and Chatra districts. A resident of Chatra, he has his own house in Pagmil Barik cooperative colony. He had completed his education of chemical engineering from Bengaluru. His father is a retired teacher. He was seen in Hazaribag 15 days back.

The Barik colony is a colony where a shootout happened in 2012. He was also arrested by the Hazaribag police in a truck loot case in 2021. After completion of engineering he was married to his college mate Basanti Patel. The NIA of Delhi was searching for him in case of involvement in the ISIS module.

Shahnawaj's father lived in Barik cooperative colony 10 years ago. He has three sisters and brothers in the family. When Hazaribag police arrested him in 2021, during the interrogation he agreed that he had joined the SIMI ( Students Islamic Movement of India).

The statement which was given by him to the NIA that he kidnapped the owner of Khadim’s shoes owner Partho Roy. Hazaribag was always the centre of extremist activities. Two extremists were shot dead in Khergaon Mohalla of the town.

The NIA confirmed that Shahnawaj was associated with so many extremist organizations and was doing the work for organizations. The NIA will come to Hazaribag and Chatra to investigate the members of his family shortly. The centre for his activities is at Patna. This is the place from where he has done his activities.
