Sunday, 01 October 2023 | Staff Reporter | BALOD

An animal tracking app will be helpful in tracing the location of elephants and their route to prevent human-elephant conflict, it was announced on Saturday.

A day-long workshop was held by the Forest Department in this regard in Balod district on Friday.

A team of the Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve gave information about the app to the field staff and Hathi Mitra Dal of Balod Forest Division.

The objective of this app is to provide information about the presence of elephants to villagers with mobile calls, SMS and WhatsApp alerts besides announcements by elephant trackers.
