The Urban Development and Housing Department (UD and HD) has intensifed its move to regularize unauthorized construction in state's municipal bodies. The Department held a one day workshop with stakeholders for finalization of plan 2022 (2023). The workshop was presided over by, Secretary UD and HD, Vinay Kumar Choubey.
While gathering of stakeholders on the occasion Choubey that lakhs of houses are still in the category of unauthorized constructions in the municipal bodies of the State. “In the light of the directive of the Chief Minister, the State Government is planning to regularize the unauthorized constructions in the interest of such families in the scheme 2022 ( 2023) has been drafted, which has invited suggestions from the general public as well as other stakeholders. In this sequence, this workshop has been organized. The benefit of this scheme is not to increase revenue, but to benefit the public,†he added.
The Secretary urged all the participants to give suggestions to make the scheme more effective and if possible improvement in the scheme format would be done.
Speaking on the occasion Ranchi MP, Sanjay Seth raised the issue of such families whose construction is unauthorized and many documents are being sought for their regularization. He urged the UD and HD to process in the public interest and be simplified further, so that the common man comes forward to take advantage of this scheme.
In the workshop, through the presentation by Chairman of the Indian Institute of Architects, Jharkhand Chapter, Sandeep Jha detailed suggestions were given on various points of the format of the scheme, such as recognition of the area of the house through self-declaration to the beneficiary in the scheme. Along with the urban area, RRDA, MADA, and rural areas should be considered for regularization of unauthorized construction, reduce the road width criteria and others.
In the workshop, on the suggestions of various stakeholders, guidance was given by Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, Aditya Kumar Anand and Chief City Investor of UD and HD, Gajanand Ram and their doubts were resolved.
It may be noted that before this, a plan was brought by the State Government to regularize unauthorized constructions in 2011 and 2019 as well. At present, the draft plan has been prepared again by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, after finalization of which the subject matter was discussed in detail with the stakeholders in order to seek suggestions.
MLA Kanke, Samri Lal, Deputy Mayor, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Sanjeev Vijayvargiya, Municipal Commissioner, Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, Special Officer, Jamshedpur, , Assistant Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, Shailesh Priyadarshi, Secretary of CREDAI,. Kumud Jha, FJCCI President, Kishor Mantri, town planners from various bodies of the State and other stakeholders participated, who gave valuable suggestions.
