A two day workshop on ‘Communication and Presentation Skills’ was held at HRD Centre on 7th and 8th November 2023 for the executives at Senior level Management of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Atanu Bhowmick, DIC, RSP with additional charge of BSL presided over the inaugural session. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works) and Tarun Misra, ED (P&A) also shared the dais with DIC.
Prof. Vidyanand Jha from IIM Calcutta was the chief resource person of the session. In all 30 Senior executives including Chief General Managers, General Managers and Deputy General Managers took part in the programme
Addressing the participants the DIC highlighted the importance of communication in career advancement. He expressed hope that such workshops would enhance the leadership capabilities and hone managerial skills helping individuals to handle their roles effectively.
The main objective of the workshop was to help the participants be more effective at communication and presentations, including oral, written and online communications.
In the inaugural session Rajashree Banerjee, CGM (HRD) delivered the welcome address while K K Jaiswal, AGM (HRD) coordinated the programme.
The two day programme comprising 8 sessions focused on persuasive communication, oral communication and written communication along with presentations.
