12 alternative documents valid ID proof for voting

There are 12 alternative documents that will serve as valid ID proof for voting if a person is unable to present his electoral photo identity card, the Election Commission said on Wednesday.

They are Aadhaar card, MGNREGA job card, bank or post office passbook with photograph, health insurance smart card issued by the Labour Ministry, driving licence, PAN card, smart card issued by RGI under NPR, passport, pension documents with photograph, service ID cards (with photograph) issued by Central or state governments or public sector undertakings or public limited companies, official identity cards issued to MPs, MLAs and MLCs and Unique Disability ID.

Chhattisgarh will see elections on April 19 and 26 and May 7. The results will be announced nationally on June 4.
