3 lakh new voters added in last three months in State

Lok Sabha elections are to be held in Jharkhand from the fourth phase. The process of nomination of candidates is going on in Jharkhand. Besides, the work of adding new voters is also going on at a fast pace. According to Election Commission of India Jharkhand, 2 lakh 97 thousand 223 new voters have been added in Jharkhand in the last three months.

During this period, 3 lakh 61 thousand 911 people applied, out of which 55 thousand 581 applications are pending. According to ECI Jharkhand, eligible citizens of 18 years of age can register their names in the voter list till April 25. For this, voters can apply through BLO in Form-6 or online through https://voters.eci.gov.in/. The general public can also get necessary information by downloading the Voter Helpline App.

After the announcement of general elections on March 16, ECI had released the number of voters in Jharkhand. According to that, there are total 2,55,18,642 voters in Jharkhand. Of these, 1,29,97,325 are male, 1,25,20,910 are female and 407 are third gender voters. Whereas the number of voters aged 18-19 years is 8,08,371. In the general elections 2024, there are 3,22,709 voters above 80 years of age and 1,39,445 voters above 85 years of age. 29,521 polling stations have been set up in Jharkhand for the Lok Sabha elections. This is 57 more than the last general election.

It is noteworthy that Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in Jharkhand from the fourth phase. In the fourth phase i.e. on 13 May, Khunti, Singhbhamu, Lohardaga and Palamu, in the fifth phase (20 May) Chatra, Koderma and Hazaribagh, in the sixth phase (25 May) Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi and Jamshedpur and in the seventh phase (1 June) Rajmahal. Voting will be held in Dumka and Godda.

 Meanwhile, with a view to boost polling National Election Watch and Manthan Yuva Sansthan Trust will organize an essay competition for the youth on the topic of 'We Will Vote!'. Youth up to 25 years of age can participate in the competition. The essay should be written in Hindi in maximum 1000 words. Contenders can apply their essay online till 12 noon on 25th April. The result will be announced at a function to be held in Ranchi on April 26.

During the programme, the essence of the three best writings will be presented there and will also be honoured. The 3 best essays will be awarded with an amount of Rs 3000, 2000 and 1000. Online certificates will be provided to all participants.
