Tuesday, 23 April 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

One of the three youths attacked a cook at one stone mine at Asehar last night under the Panki police station limits. Asehar has 2 stone mines.

The cook identified as Suraj Chandravanshi has multiple injuries on limbs  but not on head. He was given treatment. None of the injuries were grievous or life threatening.

The injuries were inflicted with a desi chopper.

IPS probationer doing mandatory officer in charge ship of the Panki police station Gaurav Goswami said the attack was the fall out of a tiff with the victim by the three in the Sunday Haat of Asehar.

The three again reached the mine where this cook was busy preparing food at night and with a desi chopper attacked the cook and fled from the scene.

The three belong to the minority community. One of the three is an addict. He wears the name Mithun, probably he has a penchant for dancing.

At the core of this episode is an illicit love which the cook has with a married woman of the minority community.

The tiff at the Asehar Haat on Sunday evening was in reaction to the cook's persistent illicit love with the married woman which was opposed and resisted by one of the three who attacked the cook.

Gaurav Goswami said police would soon arrest the three. A criminal case has been lodged against the three.
