BJP seeks CBI probe on ‘theft’ of files from record room

Saturday, 06 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The State BJP unit on Friday raised serious concern over theft of government records files from land record room alleging that it is an attempt to cover up the 8.86 acre land scam at Bargain circle. State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo alleged that theft from the record room immediately after central probe agency ED has filed chargesheet in the land scam is a big conspiracy to hide facts.

Pratul said that it is unbelievable that several land documents were stolen from the record room by breaking the locks of the cupboard. Police personnel are always deployed in this complex. Pratul said that as the story of land loot is unfolding, white collar people are being exposed one after the other. Pratul demanded from Chief Minister Champai Soren that he should immediately take action against this matter, demanding CBI probe on the issue. Pratul said that how such theft can occur in the premises where policemen are present? That too when the ED is only investigating the documents related to land loot.

For the first time, a theft of land records has taken place inside the Ranchi District Collectorate.

The theft took place on Wednesday- Thursday night. The police and district officials including Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha have visited and inspected the site inside the land record rooms.

The police have filed FIR registering the case of theft of official files of land records of several plots of land. An investigation has begun, said the police.

Though media persons were informed that official records of land plots located in Ranchi city were missing, the buzz in a section of the Collectorate is that land records of the land that is alleged to have been acquired by ex-CM Hemant Soren in Baragain Anchal, Ranchi, were missing from the land record room.

None of the officials including Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha were available for comment. According to the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate, Soren had allegedly held possession of about 8.86 acre of land located at Bargain Anchal, Bariatu Road in Ranchi.

It has been valued at Rs 31,07,02,480 as per urban residential property rate of Rs 3,50,680 per decimal, the ED charge sheet.

Pratul said that after the charge sheet of ED, there seems to be a direct connection between Hemant Soren and land mafias in the loot of 8.86 acres of land in Bargain.

Shahdeo said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had repeatedly said that Hemant Soren had nothing to do with the land. Is. But the charge sheet made it clear to nexus that it was their benami property. Pratul said that it is mentioned in the charge sheet that Bhanu Pratap along with other officials was running a land grabbing syndicate. When his place was raided, a brown colored file was also recovered in which documents related to Badgai and other lands were recovered. Pratul said that in the chat between former Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Vinod, a map has been sent for the construction of a marriage hall in this Lalu Khatal, Bariatu area and there is no other such big land in this entire area.

Pratul said that Baijnath Munda and Shyamal Pahan, who are also relatives of accused Rajkumar Pahan, have said that this land has been in the possession of Hemant Soren since 2010. Caretaker Santosh Munda said that the land has belonged to Hemant for 14-15 years. Pratul said that now CO Manoj Kumar has clearly said that he has to get this land verified by Chief Minister's Press Advisor Pintu's Principal Secretary Uday Shankar. where did it go. This has been confirmed by Abhishek Pintu's Principal Secretary Uday Shankar and Abhishek Pintu himself in their statements given to ED. In fact, Pintu has also said that he had asked Uday Shankar to verify two more lands of Hemant Soren.

In the files seized by ED, it is written as CMO Argent, Bhuihari. This writing itself tells the whole story of the robbery. The paper which was seized by ED is a very sensational paper. In which the name of the tenant was missing from the blank page of the register of this land. That means there were preparations to add Hemant Soren's name to it. The SAR Court completed the entire investigation in just 20 days between January 9, 2024 and January 29, 2024 and ordered the return of the land. Meanwhile, verification of the land was also done. Three notices were also issued. This was the only case in which this court gave its verdict in 20 days. This is also a record.

Rajkumar Pahan's ancestors sold about 40 acres of land to different people between 1978 and 1989. Only this 8.86 acres of land was vacant and was captured by Hemant Soren.

Two bills of Khushboo Munda are mentioned in the ED charge sheet. Khushboo Munda is the daughter of Santosh Munda. Bought refrigerator in 2017 and a smart TV in 2022. The address of this land has been given. So it is clearly visible that at this time Santosh Munda was living on this land, who himself is saying that this land belonged to Hemant and it was not in the possession of Rajkumar Pahan.

Pratul said that former Chief Minister Hemant is denying the ownership rights of the BMW car. In his statement given to ED, he himself said that on the night of 28 January 2024, I left in my blue colored BMW car. That is, he himself admitted that he was its owner. It is mentioned in the charge sheet that he himself liked this vehicle after visiting the showroom. Pratul said that former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan has also said in his statement that Pintu's secretary Uday used to often ask him for verification of the land. Pratul said that now Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Hemant Soren may say anything, but they have done bad things. They have direct connections to this land and with the help of the government machinery, they had illegally occupied this land.

State media in-charge Shri Shiv Pujan Pathak was also present in today's press conference.
