Congress MLA cum former Minister from Podeyahat, Pradeep Yadav has written to Chief Minister Hemant Soren seeking immediate cancelation of Resolution No. 8598/29.09.2015- Department of Personnel, Administration and Official Language, Government of Jharkhand, regarding employing highly skilled professionals as "consultants" on contractual basis in the departments.
In his letter Yadav has said that the 5 pages of Resolution No. 8598/29.09.2015 of the Personnel department clearly states that the previous government had created an alternative way in 2015, apart from the constitutional provisions, by ignoring reservation and making a way to appoint officers on high posts in the government who had views in line with corporate houses and supported by its party.
But at that time there was a lot of opposition to this resolution in the state, due to which it has been left in a dormant state.
On the same lines, the Government of India, through the Union Public Service Commission (U.P.S.C.), had issued an advertisement on 17 August 2024, ignoring reservation for higher posts in the ministry. It was forced to withdraw it after strong protests were lodged by the opposition across the country.
This resolution of Jharkhand may give rise to an anti-reservation and anti-constitution wrong system in the coming days, therefore it is necessary that the government should immediately cancel Resolution, which will be in the interest of the state and will provide solace and peace to the backward, Dalits, tribals and minorities of Jharkhand, said Yadav.
