DNLU joins hands with CNLU, Patna for research-oriented courses

Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) Jabalpur signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with prestigious institution Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna to enhance research-oriented courses, including Masters and PhD programs.

Established in year 2018 under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act, 2018, DNLU aims to advance legal education and uphold the rule of law as per the Indian Constitution. Guided by Hon'ble Judge of Supreme Court of India Justice JK Maheshwari as its visitor Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Justice Suresh Kumar Kait as its Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha as its Vice-Chancellor Praveen Tripathi as Registrar. DNLU offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programs.

CNLU Patna, established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006 (Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006) and included in Section 2 (f) & 12 (B) of the U.G.C Act, 1956. Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa serves as the Vice Chancellor at CNLU and Prof. SP Singh, as the Registrar.

Prof. Mustafa was the former Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and before that he was the founding Vice-Chancellor of National Law University Odisha (NLUO), located at Cuttack, Odisha. He is also a former director of KIIT School of Law. He sits on the board of directors of technology incubator, the T-Hub. Besides teaching and research works in the field of law, he has also authored several books and plenty of papers in national and international journals. Prof Mustafa's achievements include receiving the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fulbright Fellowship and being honoured with the SAARC's 'Best Law Teacher Award' in 2014. He has delivered lectures in numerous countries around the world and manages a popular YouTube channel called Legal Awareness WebSeries.

The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa Vice Chancellors CNLU and Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor DNLU in presence of Prof. SP Singh, Registrar CNLU.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Mustafa emphasized upon the importance of student and faculty exchange programs as a cornerstone for academic growth and institutional collaboration. He highlighted that such programs would provide students with broader exposure to diverse teaching methodologies, interdisciplinary legal studies, and practical learning opportunities. Prof Mustafa further encouraged DNLU students to actively visit the CNLU campus to attend classes, particularly in key subjects, to gain new perspectives, interact with esteemed faculty, and engage in academic discussions that would enrich their knowledge base and professional skills.
