Under the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada, Dr Neelima Soni, a doctor from Jai Prakash Hospital, gave a special lecture on the topic of 'Cleanliness and Health' at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay, Bhopal. Dr. Soni was introduced by Dr. P. Anuradha. The Director honoured Dr. Soni by presenting him a bouquet and a souvenir from the museum.
Later, Dr Neelima Soni addressed the gathering and said that in modern times, it has become very important to take care of one's health and hygiene. With the increasing population, pollution levels, emission of harmful gases, it should be a priority for everyone to maintain their health and hygiene. When all the organs of the body are working well, this physical healthy state of the human body is called health. Health is one of the characteristics of life which helps a person to live longer.
Cleanliness refers to good practices and rituals that prevent diseases and lead to good health. Thus, it mainly includes proper sewage disposal, sanitation and safe drinking water supply Therefore, it includes all those activities that are done to maintain, as well as preserve and improve good health. Along with this, he also answered the questions of the audience present.
While presiding over the programme, the Director of the Museum, Prof Amitabh Pandey, praised the lecture given by Dr Neelima Soni and thanked her and said that by taking care of personal hygiene, we can save ourselves as well as others from getting sick.
