Instructions have been issued to maintain rigorous vehicle checks at checkpoints to uphold the integrity of the electoral process. The need for conducting elections with transparency and accuracy was underscored, with officers instructed to utilise GPS for mobility.
In anticipation of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2024, a comprehensive review meeting was conducted by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal. The meeting aimed at assessing and ensuring the readiness of election preparations in Bodam and Patmada blocks. Officials inspected the cluster arrangements and deliberated on various crucial aspects pertaining to the electoral process.
The review meeting witnessed the presence of eminent officials including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, PDITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, ADM Law and Order Ananth Kumar, Director NEP, SOR, DTO, SDM Dhalbhum, Deputy Election Officer, District Public Relations Officer, BDOs of the respective blocks, CO, DSP Patmada, and police station in-charges.
At the Bodam and Patmada block headquarters, the review meeting led by the District Election Officer and Senior Superintendent of Police meticulously assessed various facets of election preparedness. Points of discussion encompassed the distance from dispatch centers to clusters and booths, the route chart, communication plans, deployment of Central Armed Forces, critical polling stations, cluster infrastructure, sensitive expenditure areas, among others.
A concerted effort towards voter awareness was emphasized during the meeting, urging the implementation of extensive awareness programs through Booth Awareness Groups. Officials applauded the sweep activity, including the vibrant rangoli and signature campaign at block headquarters, aimed at encouraging enthusiastic voter participation on Election Day, scheduled for May 25th.
The Senior Superintendent of Police emphasized the necessity for polling parties to travel on foot from clusters to booths. Detailed instructions were provided regarding the timing of marches, ensuring prompt arrival at polling stations, and securing sensitive areas. Additionally, arrangements for holding mock polls at 5:30 am on polling day were discussed, underscoring the importance of preparedness.
The Senior Superintendent of Police gave clear instructions that the polling party has to go on foot from the cluster to the booth. Mock poll is to be held at 5:30 am on the polling day, in such a situation, after pre-estimating the time of march from the cluster to the booth, necessary instructions were given on points like reaching the booth on time, sensitive pockets from security point of view, etc.
