Naxalite, police encounter in Chatarochatti area of Gomia

Cross firing took place atleast two to three hours between the police and Naxalites in Chatrochatti police station area of Gomia block of the district here on Tuesday. SP Priyadarshi Alok has confirmed the incident.  

He told that A gun-battle took place between the police and banned Naxal outfit, Maoists of India in Gomia block of Bokaro district. Adequate number of police forces  have been sent to the spot to help the police.No injuries were reported in the gunfight that happened near Chaiyatad and Dandara of Gindhauniya forest of Chutte Panchayat located in Gomia block,added SP.

There is a squad of Area Commander Kunwar Manjhi and Zonal Commander Birsen alias Kana alias Chanchal Da, with whom the encounter is taking place.  There is an encounter with the district police and CRPF 26th battalion.

A search operation was being conducted by the police on the basis of information about the presence of Naxalites.  Meanwhile, cross firing started between the two early in the morning.

 

 There is panic among the nearby villagers due to the firing incident.  Police have alerted the villagers to avoid going to the firing areas. The incident of encounter between Naxalite and police has happened in this area after a long time. The encounter has been going on for more than an hour.

 

 Sources said that Naxalite activities had increased in both these and surrounding areas and the police had an encounter with the Naxalites during long range patrolling.
