Nilendu Singh is new CMD, CCL

Nilendu Kumar Singh took charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) a Coal India subsidiary.

In the light of the orders of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India and Coal India Limited (CIL), after selection from the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), Singh assumed the charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Central Coalfields Limited on Tuesday.

Before this assignment, Singh was working as Director Technical (Projects and Planning) of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). He graduated in Mining Engineering (B.Tech.) from IIT-ISM, Dhanbad in the year 1989 and obtained First Class Mine Manager Certification in the year 1994.

After his education, he started his career in 1989 from Central Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. Shri Singh served in various capacities in CCL till 2011. During this period, he served as Mine Manager in projects like Piparwar, Ashoka, Urimari and Kalyani and others. Subsequently, he was posted in SECL in January, 2012 where he worked as Mine Manager at Gevra; Contributed as Deputy

Area Manager (Agent) in Deepka and Chhal Project and General Manager in Deepka area, Korba area and Raigarh area of SECL.
Singh has extensive experience in working in mega open cast mines, operating FMC projects, commissioning sidings, adopting new mining technologies and working with the highest capacity HEMMs.
 
Nilendu Kumar Singh has also visited Australia in 1997 to gain experience in mining techniques. He has keen interest in sports and painting. She has represented volleyball at the All India University level.

Having vast experience of over three decades in the coal industry, Singh has contributed significantly in introducing various new mining methods and improving the functioning of the company. Along with this, he has diverse and long-term experience in the coal industry in working with various labor organizations and company stakeholders.

Team CCL will benefit from Singh's experience of over three decades in the coal industry. Under his able leadership the company will definitely achieve the set target. Notably, CCL has created new records in performance by achieving highest ever generation and dispatch in FY 23-24.
