Nomination papers will be filed for the third phase from April 12

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has told that Lok Sabha elections are to be held in four phases in Madhya Pradesh under Lok Sabha Elections - 2024.

Rajan said that in the third phase, nomination papers will be filed in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh from April 12. He told that in the third phase, Voting will be held in Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies number-1 Morena, number-2 Bhind (SC), number-3 Gwalior, number-4 Guna, number-5 Sagar, number-18 Vidisha, number-19 Bhopal, number-20 Rajgarh and Betul (ST) Lok Sabha constituency number-29. Election notification for the third phase will be released on Friday, April 12. Nomination papers will be filed by the candidates from this day itself. The last date for filing nomination papers is Friday, April 19. The nomination papers will be scrutinized the next day on Saturday, April 20. Candidates who have filled the nomination papers will be able to withdraw their names till Monday, April 22. Voting for the third phase will take place on Tuesday, May 7. Counting of votes for all phases of voting will take place on Tuesday, June 4.

Voting for Betul Lok Sabha constituency no. 29 will be held on May 7

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that a new programme has been issued by the Election Commission of India on April 10 for the election of Betul Lok Sabha constituency no. 29. Voting will now be held in Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency No. 29 Betul (ST) on May 7. The election notification here will be issued on 12th April. Only Bahujan Samaj Party candidates will be able to submit nomination papers from 12th to 19th April. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on April 20. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 22nd April. Voting will take place on May 7. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.

It may be noted that Ashok Bhalawi, the candidate contesting from the recognized national political party Bahujan Samaj Party in Betul Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency, passed away on April 9 following which, Collector and Returning Officer Betul had sent the information about postponement of voting to be held on April 26 to the Chief Electoral Officer, Madhya Pradesh. The Election Commission of India, New Delhi was informed about the postponement of polling by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Rajan has clarified that nomination papers of only Bahujan Samaj Party candidates will be submitted in the election of Betul Lok Sabha constituency no. 29. The remaining candidates will remain the same.
