Pay special attention to security arrangements: CEO Anupam Rajan

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that police officers should ensure special preparations for security before voting and on the day of voting. Adequate forces should be available at polling stations to ensure that there is no disruption of any kind in voting.

Take preventive action against unwanted elements

Rajan asked the police officers to take immediate preventive action against all the unwanted elements both identified and monitored. He told to get non-bailable warrants served as soon as possible. Confiscate illegal liquor and unlicensed weapons and strictly curb any such activities.

Extra force should be deployed in sensitive areas

Rajan directed that special attention should be given to all the sensitive areas of the state. Additional force should also be deployed here as per requirement to increase vigilance.

Activate checkpoints

The Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the activities of the inter-state and intra-state checkpoints established in the state and asked the police officers to activate all these checkpoints. He told to increase the number of staff here and monitor every activity.

Flying squad and surveillance team should be alert

Rajan said that the monitoring system of flying squad and surveillance team (SST) prepared in the context of elections should be made more effective. He instructed these teams to act promptly and review their work daily.

Provide training to police officers and staff

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan gave instructions to give proper training to all police officers and employees engaged in elections. He said that in the training, policemen should also be told about their official duties and the prescribed procedure to be followed to fulfill these duties.

Organize border meeting of senior police officers of bordering districts

Rajan told the police officers that a border meeting should be organized between the police officers of the bordering districts of Madhya Pradesh and the district level police officers of the bordering states. Police officers of both the states should ensure that all necessary restrictive actions are taken within the time limit.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Shrotiya, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) and State Police Nodal Officer Anshuman Singh, Assistant Inspector General of Police Nagendra Singh and other officers were present in the meeting.
