Rahul Gandhi’s statement slows down pace of MPCC

The Congress is back on square after an initial offensive against Mohan Yadav regime in Madhya Pradesh. MPCC chief Jitu Patwari seems unsettled due to his seniors making some statements and Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath trying to overshadow the MPCC chief. There is utter confusion relating to Kamal Nath's future role in state politics.

Jitu's initial aggression against the State government had cornered the ruling BJP which was forced on back foot.

In recent past State Congress in the leadership of PCC chief Jitu Patwari had been on roads attacking the State government on different issues including crimes against women, poor condition of peasants, soyabean MSP at Rs 6,000 per quintal, deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

More than two dozen agitations have taken place in last one month at State capital and at different divisions. The agitation by the State unit of the Congress left an impact on the government and the State government and the ruling BJP leaders were forced to reply to the Congress' allegations.

Now, the MPCC is at back foot as the statement of Congress leader against reservation given in United States is out. The Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders are not in a position to counter the statement.

On the contrary, the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh that was already engaged in Sangathan Parv under its membership drive, has decided to take up the issue and agitate against the statement of Rahul Gandhi.

State BJP Spokesperson Rajneesh Agrawal told The Pioneer that Congress is completely being guided by the anti-national forces. It is going on the lines of leftists now, he said, adding that Congress leaders are out to create dispute among castes and create differences in the society.

In fact, Congress wants to abolish the reservation for Dalits and to give it to the Muslims, he claimed.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Media In-charge Mukesh Nayak claims that Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the reservation. He is not against it. It is BJP that is misinterpreting his statements and misleading the public. "We are working on it and clarifying in the public, the intentions of the BJP. This attempt of the BJP will not stand longer," he added.
