In the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha elections, police and district administration teams are in active mode. After the implementation of the model code of conduct, illicit liquor and Rs 1.24 crore cash has been seized. These also include illicit liquor worth Rs 57 lakh and Rs 59 lakh in cash.

As soon as the nomination process started, strict checking started at 21 points of the city and 21 borders of 5 districts. Day and night the teams will keep an eye on those carrying illegal liquor or black money.

Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh said that till now Rs 59.74 crore cash, illicit liquor worth Rs 57.59 lakh and other intoxicants worth Rs 6.18 lakh have also been seized. District administration teams, police and excise department have taken this action. This action will continue till the code of conduct.

Teams will keep an eye on those carrying Rs 50000 or more in cash. In such a situation, if you do not have an account of cash, the team will confiscate it. After this, in response to the notice, the concerned will have to submit the accounts within the stipulated time limit. That means where did this money come from and where was it being taken. It will be necessary to disclose the source of that money with evidence.

Gold and silver jewelery will also have to be kept with the bill. Collector Singh said instructions have been given to settle the bank money on the spot. The bank or its associated people have been asked not to stop without reason.

The nomination process started on Friday. With this the teams have come into active mode. Now teams will also be deployed on 19 borders of 5 districts associated with Bhopal – Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Rajgarh and Guna districts. There is a possibility of large amounts of black money being used during elections. For this reason, cash will be more closely monitored during this period.

Officials said that the Election Commission has not stopped people from carrying or keeping cash, they just have to check and provide complete information. This not only reveals the source of the money, it also gives information about where the money is going to be spent.

There are 19 borders of 5 districts from Bhopal. Of these, 6 boundaries are in urban areas, while 13 are in rural areas. The district administration has prepared a plan with the police for security arrangements and checking on these borders during the Lok Sabha elections. Now this plan has also started being implemented. Teams have been deployed.

Maximum 11 boundaries will be drawn in the Berasia Assembly. After this, there will be 5 limitations in Huzoor. Narela also has 3 limits. In this way, 19 border outposts will be built in only 3 constituencies. There are no limits in Govindpura, Bhopal North, Bhopal Central and Bhopal South-West. This assembly is inside the city itself. About 5 boundaries will also be formed in Sehore Assembly.
