State Bank of India (SBI) commemorated its 69th Bank Day with an array of activities that showcased its unwavering commitment to social causes, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of art and culture.
On the occasion of Bank Day on 1st July 2024, SBI Bhopal Circle distributed 225 Laptops to meritorious students belonging to SC/ST communities of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under CSR activity. This ambitious initiative will equip underprivileged SC/ST students with laptops, enabling them to access online education, e-learning platforms, and digital resources.
The program related to distribution of laptops were held at Local Head office Bhopal and its other offices located across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Chander Shekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager, SBI Bhopal Circle distributed the laptops at Bhopal. Sharma in his message pointed out the educational disparity faced by underprivileged students belonging to SC/ST communities in accessing digital learning resources. Through the distribution of laptops, the initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide and provide equal opportunities for quality education. Earlier during the day, blood donation camp was also organized at LHO premises wherein staff members participated enthusiastically.
To celebrate and embrace the rich legacy of India's diverse cultural heritage, SBI organized a captivating cultural program at Swarn Jayanti Auditorium, R.C.V.P. Naronha Academy, Shahpura Bhopal. The event was spectacular, showcasing the Bank's profound appreciation for art, music, and cultural diversity. The program served as a platform for in house SBI artists and performers to exhibit their talent and promoted the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and creativity. The distinguished presence of Padma Shree Awardee and International Para Swimmer Satendra Singh Lohiya made the occasion a truly memorable one. The mesmerizing singing performance of Poornima Shrestha, Famous Bollywood Playback Singer entertained and grasped all the attention in the musical evening.
The event was graced by the presence of Chander Shekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager SBI Bhopal Circle, along with General Managers Ajitav Parashar, Kundan Jyoti and Ram Kumar Tiwari, other top officials, including Deputy General Manager & Circle Development Officer Ashwini Kumar, DGM (B&O) Bhopal, Lokesh Chandra and other retired officials of SBI.
