AIIMS Bhopal embarked on its journey towards cleanliness and sanitation with the inauguration of "Swacchta Pakhwada" under the auspices of "Swacchaarambh" by Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Bhopal.
The event commenced with a poignant tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, highlighting his pioneering efforts towards fostering awareness about cleanliness and sanitation.
During the ceremony, Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh led the staff in taking the Swacchta Pratigya, emphasizing the significance of personal hygiene, sanitation, and environmental protection. Every member pledged to diligently work towards promoting sanitation awareness, infection control, and hygiene practices. The Executive Director underscored the importance of reducing plastic waste and urged the staff to educate themselves and others in their surroundings about adopting cleanliness practices at work, home, and within the community.
Following the pledge, a 'Shramdan' drive was organized, with the participation of various sections of staff members, including Faculty members, Nursing Officers, Engineering & Sanitation staff, under the leadership of the Executive Director & CEO. The Shramdan drive, coordinated by the Housekeeping & Sanitation Department, saw active involvement across all departments and sections of AIIMS Bhopal.
The Swacchaarambh event witnessed a significant turnout. All attendees pledged to embrace cleanliness not just for the duration of Swacchta Pakhwada but throughout the year, with the overarching goal of fostering a clean and healthy environment at AIIMS Bhopal.
The collective aim is to contribute towards the vision of a Swacch AIIMS, a Plastic-Free AIIMS, and a Swasth AIIMS, aligning with the broader national initiative of Clean India - Healthy India.
