Cold wave grips MP: Sehore records lowest temperature at 3.2 degrees

Foggy conditions prevailed in the state on the festival of Makar Sankranti. Fog is looming over more than 20 districts including Bhopal and Gwalior. On the other hand, drizzle will occur on January 15, due to Western Disturbance, it may rain in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Ujjain divisions. After the system passes, the effect of cold will increase again from January 17.

Bhopal recorded night at 5.4 degree celsius which was a departure of 6.2 degree celsius while departure in the same range was witnessed in Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Indore, Betul and Ratlam districts.

The lowest night temperature was recorded in Sehore at 3.2 degree celsius.

Meteorologist said, a Western Disturbance is becoming active from January 14. Its effect will be seen in the state on January 15 and 16. As soon as the system passes, the effect of cold will increase again in the state.

The entire state shivered on Tuesday due to cold winds. The day temperature dipped by 2 degrees at some places and by 5 degrees at other places. The lowest temperature was recorded at 17.8 degrees in Raisen. The temperature in Bhopal was 18.8 degrees. Here the mercury dropped by 3 degrees in a single day.

Similarly, the temperature was 18.4 degrees in Seoni, 18.9 degrees in Dhar-Pachmarhi, 19 degrees in Ujjain, 19.4 degrees in Narmadapuram, 19.5 degrees in Indore, 19.7 degrees in Rewa, 20 degrees in Shivpuri, Malanjkhand-Sidhi, 20.2 degrees in Guna-Ratlam, 20.3 degrees in Jabalpur, 20.5 degrees in Naugaon, 20.7 degrees in Betul, 20.8 degrees in Umaria, 21 degrees in Damoh, 21.2 degrees in Gwalior, 21.4 degrees in Satna, 21.8 degrees in Sagar, 22.4 degrees in Khajuraho, 22.8 degrees in Mandla.

Before this, light rain occurred in 8 districts including Bhopal. There was fog in the morning in 15 districts including Gwalior-Indore. At the same time, a drop in night temperature was seen in the entire state. According to the Meteorological Department, on Sunday-Monday night, Indore recorded 7.6 degrees, Ujjain 9 degrees, Bhopal 10 degrees, Gwalior 10.8 degrees and Jabalpur recorded 12.8 degrees Celsius.

Moderate to dense fog prevailed in Satna, Maihar, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Rajgarh, Panna & Chhatarpur Districts ; Shallow to Moderate Fog prevailed in Agar, Anuppur, Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Betul, Bhind, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Datia, Dindori, Guna, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Mandsaur, Morena, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Raisen, Seoni, Shahdol, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Umaria Districts of the state.
