The morale of cyber criminals in Jharkhand is so high that they are not refraining from cheating by creating fake accounts in the name of state officials. Attempts have been made from time to time to cheat by creating fake IDs in the name of many IAS and IPS officers of the state. In some cases, cyber criminals got success, while in some cases they could not succeed in their plan.
This time cyber criminals have created a fake Facebook ID in the name of Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri of the capital Ranchi. When the DC came to know about this, he issued a message about it on his social media account X and wrote that a fake Facebook ID was created in the name of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate.
The district administration has received information that a fake Facebook ID (https://facebook.com/share/1Byb6iUvCy/) has been created in the name of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Ranchi, Shri Manjunath Bhajantri. Through this fake ID, friend requests are being sent to common citizens by anti-social elements, with the aim of making people victims of fraud and cheating.
The district administration clarifies that Manjunath Bhajantri has no connection with this fake Facebook ID. The public is appealed not to accept any such unknown friend requests. Be cautious of such activities, as it may be a part of cyber crime and may cause you financial or personal loss.
The district administration has initiated strict action against this fraud. FIR is being registered against the culprits, and the concerned cyber crime unit is investigating the matter thoroughly.
