Rural Development Minister, Deepika Pandey said, “The youth of Jharkhand have proved that if given opportunity and proper guidance, they can make a mark for themselves in the country and the world. We are all proud of you. It is the responsibility of the government to not only support your skill development but also to provide all possible help in ensuring your safe and respectable livelihood. On this occasion, she congratulated all the candidates for their achievements. A special book “Kaushal Vikas se Atmanirbharta ki Aur” based on DDU-GKY was released at the event.
Pandey said that the Jharkhand Government is committed to skill development and advancement of the youth of the state. She also assured that the government is with them at every step, whether they are in Jharkhand or in any other part of the country. Smt. Deepika Pandey on Sunday addressed an alumni meet for the candidates placed under DDU-GKY organized by Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society, Rural Development Department, in Bengaluru She was addressing the Samaroh-2025.
Minister Pandey praised the effective implementation of DDU-GKY scheme by JSLPS and said that this flagship program has brought positive change in the lives of thousands of youth of Jharkhand. The Minister especially mentioned the Migration Support Center established by JSLPS in Bengaluru, which is playing an important role in providing support to the youth working outside Jharkhand.
The objective of this program was to provide a common platform to the youth of Jharkhand working in different parts of the country, where they can share their experiences, communicate with each other and celebrate their journey of development. Under the able and sensitive leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand government is committed to make every youth, especially women, self-reliant through skill development, in this episode, more than 85 thousand youth have been provided free skill training by JSLPS so far.
Addressing the program, CEO, JSLPS, Mrs. Kanchan Singh welcomed the Hon'ble Minister of Rural Development, representatives of PIA (Project Implementing Agencies), representatives of Government of India, and all the candidates present and explained the objective of the program. She said that the purpose of such alumni meets is not only to celebrate but also to ensure that the placed youth get continuous support and guidance. Referring to the Migration Support Centre established by JSLPS in Bengaluru and Haryana, she said that this center not only helps in solving the problems of the youth of Jharkhand working, but also provides them social and mental support.
Around 850 placed candidates, who are employed in various reputed companies, participated in this program. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm and excitement in the program, in which the young talents also showcased their talent through cultural presentations. Activities like dance, song and drama presentation mesmerized all the participants and guests.
During the ceremony, "Skill Icon" felicitation ceremony was also organized, in which outstanding performing candidates and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) who contributed to the effective implementation of the scheme were felicitated. These felicitated youth have not only brought laurels to their families but also brought pride to the state of Jharkhand.
During the program, many candidates shared their experiences and told how the DDU-GKY project brought a new turn in their lives. They shared stories of their training, struggle to get a job and their self-reliant life today, which was extremely inspiring for the listeners.
