Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed the development of a mining surveillance system utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) to curb illegal mining, storage, and transportation activities. Under this initiative, Geo-Tagging of all 7,502 approved mines across the state has been completed, clearly demarcating mining areas. Satellite imagery and remote sensing technologies will be deployed to monitor illegal excavation and storage activities.
Yadav stated that this system will be capable of detecting unauthorised mining activities outside the designated mining zones. The system will analyse satellite images and alert state and district-level administrations at regular intervals. Field teams will inspect and verify such alerts via a mobile application and register reports directly onto the portal or app.
