The Public Accounts Committee of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly held a crucial meeting with officials of the district administration on Wednesday at the Circuit House Auditorium. The meeting, chaired by Committee Chairman and Barhi MLA Manoj Yadav, focused on financial management, scheme implementation, and public welfare in the district.
Committee members present during the session included MLAs Sukhram Oraon, Naman Vixal Kongadi, Amit Yadav, and Sameer Mohanti. The district was represented by Deputy Commissioner Karna Satyarthi, Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, along with officials from various departments.
During the meeting, the committee conducted an in-depth review of several ongoing and past schemes, projects, and financial matters concerning the district. Key issues such as progress of development schemes, budget utilization, implementation efficiency, and transparency in governance were discussed in detail.
The committee issued several necessary guidelines, stressing the importance of completing all projects within the stipulated timeline while ensuring the effective and proper utilization of public funds. A significant part of the review focused on financial management of schemes implemented between the financial years 2008–09 and 2018–19.
Special attention was given to schemes related to education, health, drinking water, road infrastructure, and rural development. The committee directed the concerned departments to take prompt and appropriate actions to accelerate implementation and improve service delivery.
Committee Chairman Manoj Yadav highlighted the importance of inter-departmental coordination and robust monitoring to enhance transparency and efficiency in public welfare work. He reiterated that effective governance and timely completion of schemes are essential for ensuring the benefits reach the grassroots.
