A sub zonal commander of the TSPC (Tirtiay Sammelan Prastuti Committee) Gautam, 35, was caught by Jharkhand's Palamu police team along with the Varanasi police team in a private nursing home from Varanasi on Wednesday.
Gautam was hurt in an encounter with the Jharkhand's Palamu police on May 17 under the jungles of the Manatu police station limits. He had sustained a bullet injury in his stomach.
Additional SP Ops Rakesh Singh said, "The extremist got hurt in the encounter with the police in Palamu on May 17. On the intervening night of May 18/ 19 he got himself admitted into a private nursing home in Varanasi under a pseudo name."
"The naxal is right now under police custody of Jharkhand's Palamu district. The Varanasi police are also giving our police all assistance there," added the ASP Ops.
Gautam had sustained bullet injuries in his stomach on May 17. It was an open entry exit wound on his stomach.
The extremist had already been operated upon successfully added the ASP Ops.
"Once he gets discharged from the private nursing home, law will take its own course," he said.
On being asked as to how such a critically wounded Maoist reached Varanasi to which ASP Ops said, "He must have reached Varanasi by road. His near and dear ones must have helped him otherwise how could this injured ultra could have handled himself in such a distant land."
Gautam is a 'strike man' in the contingent of the zonal commander of the TSPC Shashikant.
Sources said this is Jharkhand's Palamu police major outreach when it traced, tracked and finally arrested an ultra in bed in a private nursing home.
