A 40-year-old man, who was seriously injured in an assault by armed assailants on January 11 at Umrao Colony Karond over a petty issue, died while undergoing treatment at govt hospital. His younger brother had died on the same day of the attack while elder brother who intervened to save died during treatment at Hamidia hospital on Monday.
After the murder of contractor Irfan Ansari with a knife on Saturday evening in the Nishatpura area now his elder brother Raees also died during treatment. Raees was undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital.
The police have handed over the body to the family after conducting a post-mortem. In the case, the police have arrested the fourth accused Sohail (22), a resident of JP Nagar.
Five habitual criminals are accused in the murder which was fuelled after a beam from the deceased's under-construction house fell on the neighbor's power supply line which led to a dispute in the afternoon on January 11 but was pacified after the locals intervened.
The accused failed to pacify and in the evening, the accused entered the house and attacked Irfan and his brother Raees who came to rescue him also suffered serious injuries.
The accused is identified as Bhaiya alias Kale, who lives in the neighborhood. Bhaiya is a goon of the area. After the wire broke, he and his son Arshu created a lot of ruckus.
At around 5:30 in the evening, Bhaiya and Arshu and his accomplices Imtiaz Maulana, Asif and Shadab suddenly attacked even after the matter was pacified. At this time, Irfan's younger brother Raees Ansari was also with him. All of them together attacked both the brothers with sharp edged weapons. Both were admitted to Hamidia for treatment where Irfan died late at night on the same day.
TI Rupesh Dubey said that no one had informed the police station about the incident. No information was received from the hospital either. After receiving information from a third person, the team has been sent to Hamidia Hospital. Statements of the complainant side are being recorded. Investigation has been started.
This dispute started three days ago, when the beam of the under-construction house of Irfan and Raees fell on the wire of the neighbor, due to which the wire broke. After this, there was a dispute first in the afternoon and then in the evening the accused entered the house and attacked.
During this time Irfan died, while Raees died during treatment on Monday. However, the dispute was settled after the persuasion of the responsible people of the locality at the time of the dispute.
