Eve-teasing is a major problem in almost all parts of the country. News related to this problem comes almost every day which disturbs the conscious citizens. A village boy of Hazaribagh Shivam Sharma has innovated a gadget to protect the girls from eve-teasing. He has named it “Girls’ Protecting Gadget”.

Shivam Sharma, son of Jyotish Sharma and Aruna Devi of Khapariyawan village of Katkamdag block of Hazaribagh district, is a student of Class XII of Vivekanand Central School. Inspired by another student Sumit Ranjan of the district who had innovated a model of drone, a touch screen security system and an app named Every Bill, Shivam was working to develop this gadget since last more than one year.

His gadget is an electronic device which can be fitted in the belt of wrist watch. The gadget needs to be covered by some insulator so that no one can see it. When a person touches a girl with bad intention she needs to just switch it on. Strong magnetic waves come out of this gadget which makes the person senseless for some time and the girl can escape during this time.

After developing and successfully experimenting it, Shivam talked with CEO Google Sundar Pichai and Dr AS Purushottam of National Research Center. Both not only appreciated his innovation but also encouraged Shivam to go on further with this incredible achievement.

Mukesh Kumar, DC Hazaribagh, also boosted the moral of this young scientist and has assured him to soon organise a special meeting in which he will present his gadget before the general people of the district.

Talking to The Pioneer, Shivam said that though he was trying to develop this gadget since last one year but it took about six months to make it after finalising preliminary design.

Sharing the details of his gadget he said that there are only five necessary parts in it. Transformer of primary turn 12 and secondary turn 450, two transistors 2N2222 and 3N50SS, four diodes of 103H, resistance of 100 kilo ohm, 22 kilo ohm and 15 kilo ohm, capacitor of 100 microfarad, 62 nanofarad and 65 picofarad and some wires.

The total cost in making this gadget was only Rs200. Now Shivam wants to get it patented so that it can be manufactured at large scale so that the girls of our country could use it and remain free from the fear of eve-teasing.
