An art and craft teacher, who brought laurels to State making the people of Jharkhand proud by clinching limca Book of Record Honour in 2010 has hit the headlines again. MS Hussain, adherent of contemporary knack has once again proved his mettle in creativity and art work by redesigning ‘Insignia’ of 23 Infantry division that recently got approved and inducted in Army.
Hussain has painted the ‘Fighting Cock’ (nee cockerel) in a conventional style. The cockerel with its signature aggressive stride signifies the unconquerable and true spirit of the elite formation that marks the motto of this prestigious infantry division ‘Nischit Vijay’. Significantly, the logo has been redesigned for the first time after 1959. The logo has been changed at army offices and soon it will be embedded on all the vehicles of army personnel.
“I am involved with project since January 2016 and had prepared the concept under the guidance of Brigadier AK Pandey. I was asked to transform the logo of this infantry in way that it reflects action of the wing in more aggressive manner. Taking up the challenge, finally I sketched it again after a gap of almost 55 years and it finally got approved by the concerned officials,” said, Hussain.Creativity speaks, with full dedication and true spirit, Hussain has made a mark in the field of fashion designing, minuscule relics, fashion shows, fine arts, painting and other creative genres. Hussain’s creation ‘Brahmastra’ for GOC Secretariat have given him much applaud and recognition way back. At present, Hussain is filling colours and shaping up the lives of hundreds of students in capital city by training them in various creative arenas. However, he opined that creative field lacks support and assistance from both government and society part even now.
“Though we get students in designing but the fine arts field has been neglected in many perspectives since long. Though there is a huge demand of professionals in creative business but due to lack of opportunity and negligence, the profession has yet not gained that pace which other professions have achieved till date,” added Hussain.
Having trained former Miss India 2003 Nikita Mehta, Hussain at this time is also guiding approximately 180 students in different creative tasks with the hope that the fine arts and other artistic line of work will finally get its share of recognition and fame among the different groups of people one day.
