Dr Aman Bathla sets a new record as the fastest artiste, says Suman Doonga
Music is the best state of trance,” says Dr Aman Bathla, now considered the fastest piano artist of the world. It is not easy to be in consistent pursuit of Western classical music but Bathla went against the flow and created two new world records last year on April 8, 2016, by playing 1,208 notes in one minute and 33 notes in one second.
The pianist and composer has got 43 world record titles so far. Through his soothing compositions over the years, he has mesmerised and enthralled the audience of all age groups. His music is all about catching the right moods of feelings, warmth, emotions and shades of life. Considered one of the best concert players of India, Bathla is immensely versatile and can play multiple musical instruments. Flute was the first of many instruments that he got acquainted with when he was in school. He was always musically inclined and has not taken any music lesson to be adept at any of the instruments. This was when he realised that music would always be a part of his life.
He plays many instruments like the flute, guitar, synthesiser, congo, drums but his instrument of choice has always been the piano. He loved playing music because he enjoyed composing his own tunes and was in awe of the power it had to change a person’s mood. Dr Bathla is the only pianist from India who has a honorary doctorate degree by a government-approved university of United Kingdom. Now he is working as a music healer, conducting healing and meditation sessions of his own compositions based on Indian classical music.
Dr Bathla believes that music connects you to the divine aura directly. It is a source of prayer and meditation for him. For many years, through his piano course, he is not only teaching students to compose but also to embrace music. When it comes to Indian classical music, he explains the similarities between western and Indian music on piano.
He believes that nature has blessed every single element with music, it is only us who have divided music in many forms. Music is the pious connection with Almighty where the mind takes the backseat but the heart rejoices in harmony.
