Andhra Bank loot: Cops nab 3 from Howrah

The Sambalpur police arrested three looters from Howrah in West Bengal on Saturday in connection with the armed robbery of Rs 10 lakh from the Andhra Bank’s Jamankira branch in the district on August 3.

The arrestees were identified as Budhadev Biswal of Jharsuguda, Rakesh Behera of Bargarh and Ganga Sagar Rai of Uttar Pradesh.

 Sources said a team led by DSP Shrimanta Barik, and consisting Inspector Prasanta Kumar Meher, Sub-Inspector Suresh Sahu was formed to nab the absconding culprits.

Acting on inputs, police nabbed the three accused from Howrah in the neighbouring State. later, searches were conducted at their houses where three country made pistols, twelve 8mm cartridges, Rs 1, 75000 in cash, three fake number plates, seven mobile phones and a bike was recovered.
