Bhilai Municipal Commissioner shunted after Dengue deaths

Monday, 17 September 2018 | Staff Reporter | Bhilai

Government of Chhattisgarh through an order has shunted Municipal Commissioner, Bhilai, Kumar Lal Chauhan and has given new posting as Additional Collector Durg. The action was taken after the death toll rising due to dengue and failure on part of the civic body to tackle it.

According to information received, with the order the State Government had primarily found that Municipal Corporation of Bhilai failed to effectively tackle the menace. Due to which the death toll in the twin cities of Durg-Bhilai rose to 42. Thus, the action was reportedly taken after making him accountable for failure in tackling the dengue menace.

Still some of patients are receiving treatment in the hospitals of Durg and Raipur while on the other hand to gauge the situation and find out the accountability, a medical team of health department from Raipur recently visited Durg.

After a report from the team, the State Government on Sunday transferred Chauhan as an Additional Collector Durg.
