More than 30,000 people from all walks of life participated in a marathon run organised by the Indore district administration for creating awareness among the masses on their voting rights. The theme of 5 km run was ‘Vote Indore Vote’.
People also raised slogans- ‘mera vote meri awaaz’. The marathon run started at 7 am from Nehru stadium and after reaching to Palasia square returned back to Nehru stadium and ended at 8.30 am.
The marathon was flagged off by Indore commissioner Raghvendra Singh, chief income tax commissioner Ajay Kumar Chouhan, ADG Indore Ajay Sharma, Indore collector Nishant Warwade, Indore DIG Harinarayanchari Mishra and commissioner of social justice department KG Tiwari and IG Milind Kaniskar, Indore Nagar Nigam Commissioner Ashish Singh and CEO Zila Panchayat Indore and sweep head Indore Neha Meena. ADM Nidhi Nivedita, ADM Kailash Wankhede ADM Ajaydev Sharma, cricketer Amay Khurasia and Amita participated in marathon run.
Indore Commissioner Raghvendra Singh conducted the oath taking ceremony .
Indore collector Nishant Warwade told that voting is our right and every citizen should vote.
